I followed my co-workers at Elle to the exclusive launching event of Benefit today at Parkson in Distr. 1 where the stall is located as well. Welcomed by a lot of gorgeous looking cupcakes and service people walking around with cute drinks, you just could totally feel the vibe and style of Benefit ! I dont need to introduce Benefit, do i ?! Im sure you know their much loved lip tint, their outstanding packaging and the stalls that always look awfully cute and nice at department stores ! Vietnam is now the 36th country to sell Benefit products and it was about time ! Vietnamese girls love to look beautiful and the demand for good make-up at affordable prices is growing ! My favourite product from Benefit is the "chachatint", a lip tint that looks very orange but actually is more reddish, and i usually have very dry lips and dont like to use lip products a lot, but Benefits lip tint is very comfortable to wear as it doesnt dry out your lips ! 

Anyway do check out the the stall if you love Benefit products and are from Saigon but couldnt get it here before !

I bought new converse shoes with my first salary from a styling job i did for Elle Vietnam. My fifth pair of Converse but my first low-top ones ! For some odd reason i always thought that low-top shoes dont suit me thats why i never owned any until i bought my first pair of Air Max ! Anyway, a good and classic investment. The shoes are actually dark blue but pictures were taken with iphone so yeah...

long sleeved dress - Lam Boutique // sequin vest - Zara // boots - Doc Martens // accessories - from Bangkok

I wasted about 1,5kg of my allowed luggage weight to bring my Doc Martens to Vietnam all the way from Germany via Taipei and Hongkong, yet this was the first time i have worn them ever since !

Even though i was really broke after going to Bangkok i dont regret it at all because i returned with SO many nice accessories ! I love these big stud earrings, and these sunglasses, which i actually bought for a friend hehe. So if you go to Bangkok, dont waste your time on Kao San (even though you can find nice bargains there as well), but visit the wholesale malls as well !

This dress was provided by a dear new friend. Her name is Lam and her shops with self-manufactured clothes are called "Lam Boutique". She has a very strong own signature style which i love, because its very simple and yet chic. The quality of her clothes are, compared to other shops clothes, extremely satisfying and you will find a lot of very classic cuts among her designs.

If iam being honest, it is really hard for me to shop in Saigon, i dont know why. Maybe it is because iam not a 1,70m, 45kg super skinny girl or because i dont know where to shop, all i know is, i find it hard to find clothes. And no, iam not willing to pay for stuff of overprices western brands like Mango or Warehouse, because i dont really see the point. If i can buy it cheaper in Germany, why should i buy it here ?
Anyway, people yet asked me where to shop in Saigon, and iam surprised people ask me, considering i have been back for only six weeks, but i dont want to hide my pearls, so iam going to share some of my favourite shops in the next few posts including outfit pictures !

Isnt the dress just gorgeous ? The collar is so beautiful,  fell in love with it at first sight ! This dress is seriously an all-occasioner, i would wear it to events or to coffee with friends, and you will find a lot of such pieces at Lam Boutique. So worth a visit, believe me !

Shops

Currently there are two boutiques, one downtown and one in district 7. The one downtown is the original shop with a great vintage flair, but the shop in district 7 is slightly larger and brighter. Check out whatever location is more convenient for you. Impressions of the shops and addresses :

Hellllooo loverssssss, it is quite rare for me to sneak in an update at this time of the year . Exams are driving me insane but it will officially end next Tuesday. It is about time ! On a different note, i think it is tremendously difficult for an Asian to pull off a blonde look, i have seen only 2 people so far that could rock this shade up. 1. My co-girl Julia , 2. Soo Joo. She looks so breath-taking in these shots, doesnt she ?

I promised myself that i would update toughlookdonthurt more often from now on and i hope i dont disappoint myself or any of my readers! Ive been in Vietnam for over a month now and pulled off every outfit at least twice for sure already because i have so very few clothes but its the first time i took out this dress. I thought it would be too dark and hot for Vietnam but i actually love how well it goes with my hair colour in these pictures and the fabric is ideal for vietnamese weather as well ! A big thank you to Thai for taking these quick shots for me which turned out quite beautifully !

bangkok affairs.

Hey kids, i went for a spontanous trip to Bangkok last weekend and iam not much in love with the city itself but with its shopping possibilities, the malls and wholesale markets ! My favourites were Platinum Plaza, a huge wholesale mall with very very very cheap apparell, Terminal 21 with really cool shops on Level M and Level 1 Tokyo, and Siam Centre and the market opposite Siam Centre ! I dont know if the market is opened at daytime cos i went there around 10pm but you will find nice bargains there eventually and a lot of cheap accessory, with stuff you can find at Platinum Plaza as well and prices are pretty much the same on same things. I didnt have much time to check out too many places because time and money were limited but i did a great stock-up on accessories ! I just couldnt resist ! Like my new bag and watch and ring ?

I Wear Fur On My Sleeves

Hello lovelies, hope everyone is well and enjoying spring elsewhere ( definitely not in London).

I never thought attending uni full-time takes so much out of you. These days I came home each night hungry enough to eat a cheesecake but too sleepy to hunt down food. Having been a student my entire life up until to this point, getting into these last few pushes before the end of my second year will take some time and extra extra energy ( maybe i should try double wheat grass shot). I'm finding energy to work on my hobbies and run a few extra miles (and blog!) after classes.

Moving along, I love this gorgeous fur sleeved top from Burberry, the feel of the fabric against my skin, and the relaxed fit. At the moment, I'm over skinny skinny pants. It's either an unabashed bare leg ( if i ever own Candice's kind of pair)  or a pair of relaxed pants for me.
