Editorial: Elle Vietnam July 2011

Iam still so amazed by this editorial, i cant believe its from a vietnamese fashion magazine. I certainly have a different perception of Vietnamese fashion than my girl Nga who spends more time in the home country than i do, as i was born and raised in Germany. And it seems like im missing out something quite new exciting. Thanks to my favourite blogger thechicmuse i stumbled upon these pictures and the fact that there is Elle magazine in Vietnam. Iam really not very good at reading Vietnamese but i still cant wait to get myself a copy of it when iam in Vietnam next week ! I usually dont really pay much attention to editorials, but this one really hit me. I dont know whether its the fact that it was posted by thechicmuse, or that iam so amazed its from Elle Vietnam, or whether its because of the blue sky (i have a thing for the sky), but this is beautiful work, and i cant wait to see more !

I never really connected Vietnam with high fashion, but this editorial proved, we are not very far away from it ! Cheers, Julia

paris fashion week / men : day 1

Hey everyone, i finally get to spare some time to update you what me, Julia, is up to ! Im sorry for the lack of posts and also for the lack of quality of the posts ! For three weeks up to last Sunday i was working non-stop but now iam once again in Paris and enjoying the fruits of my work. There is a special occasion this time though : Mens Fashion Week and my favourite model Sen Mitsuji haha. Today was the first day but unlike Fashion Weeks for women, the shows for mens fashion are much less crowded. In general the people in the city actually dont seem to care much lol. I attended John Lawrence Sullivan today, with Sen Mitsuji on the catwalk but also Mugler ! I was really looking forward to the Mugler collection and actually didnt receive an invitation but due to my friend Linh and Charles (check out his blog ! ), i managed to see it at close range. Has anyone else checked it out ?? I was rather disappointed by it after that amazing f/w 11 collection. Some pieces and outfits looked like for gay golf players, others like for gay divers, or like for "modern ancient gods" but in wannabe. Iam sorry but i really cant hide my disappointment. Oh and I even got to take a picture with Sen Mitsuji ! But wont show cos i look shit on it haha. But he really is fucking handsome, no doubt ! Anyway, cant complain about day one, after the shows i got to go shopping (ok actually only went into Zara and it was worse than Primark Oxford Street at peak times!! ), and bought a gorgeous floral dress for my upcoming vacation in Vietnam and cant wait to show you ! Imagine me in sth summer-ish, impossible right ?! haha. I hope i can upload more pictures of my trip soon, cos right now laziness is winning and i cant wait to sleep. So, good night tldh, see you tomorrow ! (hopefully...) Btw follow me on twitter if you want to or check my tumblr for blackberry uploads to get more impressions on what iam up to : )

"wear green, save nature"

Lost In The City With My BB

( black tunic - Topshop, graffiti leggings - Louis Vuiton, open-toe boots - Balmain, Bag- Balenciaga, Bracelet/ring - Vintage)

Besides the misleading title of this post, this outfit is what I wore last weekend, thanks to the gorgeous weather ( unfortunately it is gone now, London weather is so unpredictable). Somehow, i found this pair of leggings while re-arranging my summer closet. It is pretty funky isn't it, i think it is a brave choice for me because i tend to just wear black bottoms nowadays since i dont own a pair of Cameron Diaz's legs. Anyway to give a little re-cap of why posts slowed down this week it was for the sake of productivity! I attended several launching events and so far they have been breathtaking. Ps. More about the events in the next post! June is certainly one of the best month in London. With love, N!

model crush.

Sen Mitsuji. "What a remarkable name !", is what i thought when i first read it. That was even before i knew what he looked like or who he is. A model, ok. Must be japanese. It made me curious, and made me want to find out who the person behind this name is, and oh what a pleasant surprise it was. What a beautiful face, the editorials i saw, they left me in sheer fascination. Ever since those moments he fortunately became more and more popular and known, not only in the japanese fashion scene but also on world stage. How could this beautiful subtle charisma possibly stay hidden for so long i wondered. But he is present now and that is all that matters. Not only in editorials and ads but also as runway model. More than once seen at last seasons Fashion Week in NY, on the catwalk but also at presentations of Gilded Age or Tim Hamilton e.g., i thought him especially wonderful at Complex Geometries and General Idea. To me the model with the most outstanding and handsome face. Thus i can't wait for him to reappear on the runways of upcoming Mens Fashion Weeks. As much as i cant wait to see the upcoming male collections. For some reason menswear collections arouse a much bigger interest in me than women pret-a-porter, sometimes. This is based on my love for simplicity and classics and due to the fact that most menswear designer exert those elements. In my theory it is much harder for them to create something innovative on the base of something that has been reinvented and recreated so many times before, which makes the results in mens fashion much more exciting. As for Dior Homme e.g., all time favourite of course, how many times have they designed coats and blazers, how many times have they come up with new ideas how to present something so classic in a new and fresh way. I know i will always be surprised by something i for sure have not seen before, the sources of innovation and creativity aren't exhausted yet. Being agog, even though in the end its all just pants and shirts.  Pants and shirts which, and iam sure of it, would look even more fantastic presented by someone as attractive and gorgeous as Sen Mitsuji. From his blog and interviews he seems like such an interesting individual, aesthetical in every aspect. My first model crush ever. - Julia

impatience.

via christeric / tumblr

Summer just arrived and iam longing for autumn and winter again. Going through all this years F/W collections does my impatience no good. Three more months and i can get all my beloved coats and jackets out of the wardrobe again. Layering and the simplicity of black. Heavy and light structures. Just the thought of all the possibilities that await me after my summer vacation causes sheer joy.

train issue.

shirt; shorts; necklace; ring - H&M / vest - ZARA

Summer is here. Iam really no summer girl. I love the sun and brightness but i cant handle the heat. My wardrobe needs massive stockup for the summer heat this year. Especially since iam going to Vietnam (reunion with my girl Nga !) and Hong Kong as well in July/August, which means not only heat but also humidity. The worst combination haha. Pictures were taken in the train today. I was on my way home from Paris. It was wonderful like always. Stay tuned and connected to my tumblr for blackberry uploads and xanga for impressions !

Sorry also for the lack of posts. Iam all busy working and gathering money for my trips and travels : )

Blue & Sheer

( blue tank top & sheer black maxi-skirt - Topshop, Necklace- Givency, Rings- YSL, Earings - Vintage, Sunglasses - Prada, Shoes- Acne, Bag- Chanel)

Sorry for the lack of updates and posts. Cant believe im done with my first year in uni already, time passed by way way too fast. It feels so good to be free now ( well not completely) !I have always wanted a sheer maxi skirt like this and i managed to dig it out from Topshop in Leeds yesterday. It goes pretty much with everything i reckon and it also has a layer of mini skirt inside so it is not that revealing. I'm loving the weather in London lately! Nothing better than strolling around the warm city and eating ice cream with your favorite people. Missing my other half Julia of course, we will reunite in 4 weeks, Chyesssss ! Cant, cant wait !
Have a wonderful weekend everyone !
With love, N
